Project Description
Voice of Silence work is a browser-based application that translates American Sign Language (ASL) fingerspelling into spoken voice in real-time. Designed for deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals in workplace settings, it enables seamless communication during job interviews, meetings, and daily standups.
Using TensorFlow.js and MediaPipe for hand detection, the app recognizes 24 ASL letters through your webcam. Hold each sign briefly to build your message, then trigger ElevenLabs voice synthesis to speak aloud. All video processing happens locally for privacy, with Clerk providing secure user authentication.
Built with Next.js, React, and TypeScript—just open and start signing.
